If there are multiple instances of the code running at the same time,
then .so "shared objects", will be shared!  Even if not shared, they
may already be cached.  Two benefits flow: reduced physical memory
requirement and faster startup (cache vs disk).  Everything depends
upon how your customers run your particular codes though.
