Actually the only difference between the two versions are two additional files: gnugo_frame.html and gnugo_toc_frame.html Both are generated by texi2html when called with -frames option. So depending on which file you call you see the frame with gnugo.html on the right side or gnugo.html only. The rest are the same files. So the user can coose where to start. In the index.html of the archive versions this is made explicit. Adding a side menu is not an option for me because of the handwork and since it would scroll up anyway. But if texi2html could do it ... B.t.w.: With the right browser one can easily deal with framed pages. Opera for instance can maximize and bookmark them, show their URLs and has a nice info window on the left that shows site structure. Mozilla should be able to do similar things.
