I think it would be more helpful to explain how your favorite system
differs to FHS than bashing FHS so that the required setup can be
taken into account.
The point of course is not so much of supporting FHS in special but
in supporting a hierarchy which follows the conventions of the host
system. This is FHS on Linux and might be something else on other
platforms (eg the Apple one would be quite similiar to the GNUstep
environment)
