IIRC WindowMaker seems to be the only stable, well known, wide spread
window manager that actually attempts to support certain GNUstep
constructs. Whether those are up to date or not is beyond my knowledge.
It's also beyond my knowledge whether any of the window managers
developed with GNUstep or others developed for GNUstep are in a state to
be considered as viable alternative for endorsement. In case, any
change of policy should require discussion and consensus among the
majority of the relevant contributors.
I think it wasn't too long ago that efforts were being made to improve
the interoperability of GNUstep and WindowMaker. I find it very
unfortunate that this episode most likely has lead to an alienation of
the two projects rather than a consolidation of efforts.
I think this shows that it is very important that we find some kind of
review mechanism for such updates to the web pages, so that we as a
community feel represented by the content.
Cheers,
David
PS: Would it be possible set up a cvs-commit list for the web pages
and/or viewcvs?
