Writing to /usr/bin a bad idea. Only root should write there, and only
for maintenance. Try /tmp, /var/tmp, or ~.

Never used gegps. Maybe someone else here has and can help.

Ugh. Earth now only runs in Chrome. And I can't get Earth to run in
my Chrome install. So I can't test.
