Will hopefully have a chance to fix it tomorrow and continue testing, but fully expect this will fix the PPS problem.Good news.
Repaired cable, working beautifully as a time source again: root@wade:~# ntpq -pnremote refid st t when poll reach delay offset jitter

Only been running for a couple hours, but PPS came alive as soon as the repaired cable was plugged in. No 1 second offset like I was concerned I had seen with just NMEA.
Will try and look into the xgps issue tonight, but thinking it is all down to configuration issues at this point (phew).Could be. Check out the new Ubuntu instructions in INSTALL.adoc.
Line 404 of INSTALL.adoc: apt install apt install gir1.2-gtk-3.0 Duplicate 'apt install' looks like a double paste.Still having troubles with xgps, can't read the satellite info, and therefore doesn't generate the skymap. Going to try and dive into the traceback and see if I can sort out what's going on, but that's the only part not working for me at this point, the core issue of the week rollover is well handled by the updated code in Garmin binary mode.
Thanks,
Steve
