[Groff] how to use groffer

Hi groffies, 

I am testing groffer with a table made with tbl. 

groffer --groff table > table.ps

works. I get the same output as with

groff -t table > table.ps

I tried to use it on the way I found it here:

groffer --ps table

It doesn't work at all for me. The terminal freezes. 
I have to make ctrl+c to get a new command prompt. 

I tried to find some answer in the documentation...
Maybe I overlooked something.
