Crash after welcome message

Coin,

I tried to use GRUB2 on a real system, but it reboots after the welcome
message. I'm using an IBM T43 laptop with XFS partitions (with no
separate /boot partition).

Then, i tried to debug using grub-emu and here is the traceback when
running with the "--root-device='(hd0)'" option:
