I'm maintaining a git mirror. The details are here: http://repo.or.cz/w/grub2.gitThe synchronization stopped a few days ago because an entry needed to be made for a new committer, but now the git mirror is up-to-date again.
I suggest using stgit with the repository. It's a wrapper around git made specifically for working with patches.
