You can't run simultaneous consoles with a stock grub2 build.
The experimental branch does support it though:

I know GRUB2 is in freeze now but if I run some test builds of experimental 
branch w/multicons enabled on various hardware and report success, could 
multicons be slated for main branch inclusion in the next-release+1? I can't 
upgrade remote machines of mine from grub-legacy without simultaneous 
serial + VGA consoles.
