It just needed Perl.

Sorry, I was thinking about a different command. Yours fails with
“string contains #\nul character.” May I stick to the list of files
instead of using ‘find-files’?
Now, 20 of 25 tests failed. Tests are written in Ksh, not Bash, so I’ll
try to package it first.
