Yes, that makes sense.
If you want, you (yes, you ;-)) can start it in a branch off
core-updates, or directly in core-updates, if that’s fine this way.
I had reported the Libtool issue at <http://bugs.gnu.org/17840>, but the
thread eventually stalled.
