That's part of the reason I propose using the "standard" installation
method. The installation program "gnuhealth-setup" includes python
packages / dependencies versions that have been tested to work, and not
the bleeding-edge. For instance, we use "vobject==0.8.2", to avoid the
issue you ran into.
Of course, there are always pros and cons to any solution. I try to
deliver a solution as universal as possible, from the Operating
System, installaton, administration and documentation.
