To continue, I tried declaring an array and changing IFS in a subshell
nwline=1 ; aggr=("$@")
(( nwline == 1 )) && fsb='\n' || fsb=' '
( IFS=$fsb ; echo "${aggr[*]}" )
But the above still wrote on the same line
