logdir and lockdir question

Mark et al,


How do I get the last.*.*.* files and the cfengine.<hostname>.log files
to live somewhere other than $CFINPUTS? 

I've tried using --with-lockdir=<path> and --with-logdir=<path> 
when running ./configure ( at the suggestion of another list member) but
have had no success.

Perhaps it something that I've missed in the manual, but anything I
should set in cfengine.conf?
