When I first started with cfengine, I was rather excited about
editfiles. All my friends that use cfengine told me they didn't
use editfiles at all, preferring to copy files from a repository.
I stumbled around w/ editfiles, but ended up deciding that it was
easy/cleaner to just do file copy instead.
