but why these functions have to start with an upercase?
If you xxx a conflict problem with another command
("hour" is frequently used in optimisation problems ;-)
You could prefix all these functions with some commun "package" string

   date_year(t)
   date_month(t)
or
   time_year(t)
   time_month(t)
