Hi,

Here I was just talking about the fact that 'tramp-cleanup-all-buffers'
will close any buffer with a remote 'default-directory' (even the ones
not connected to a file, a directory or a process).

But you're right that it is somewhat related to the issue you're talking
about: my need to call 'tramp-cleanup-all-connections' or
'tramp-cleanup-all-buffers' also comes from those hangs.  So for your
issue, as Michael suggested, you could try calling
'tramp-cleanup-all-connections' when at home.
