Heh. You're running one version of GNU make on Solaris, and a different
version on Windows, and you're assuming the difference in behavior is
because of _MAKE_ ... !?!? :-)
Sorry, but this has nothing to do with make. Solaris (and all POSIX
systems) ignore trailing slashes on pathnames.
Windows doesn't.
Hence your different behavior.
