Perhaps some more info on what I want to do.

I have a huge makefile with about 30 main targets each with there
dependencies.

I want to log to a file whenever the make file is execute by which
user, date, and which main target is selected.
I have no access to command line options because the gmake command is
called from a software tool.

So Is there a way to put this in a command?
