[Help-gsl] installing the GSL library

Dear sir/madam,

I'm trying to install the GSL-library (version 1.7) on an Apple PowerPC 
(OS X Tiger), but do not seem to be able to use it. After giving the 
make command from the GSL-directory I get the following error messages:

/usr/bin/libtool: for architecture: cputype (16777234) cpusubtype (0) 
file: -lm is not an object file (not allowed in a library)
/usr/bin/libtool: for architecture: cputype (16777234) cpusubtype (0) 
file: -lc is not an object file (not allowed in a library)
/usr/bin/libtool: for architecture: cputype (16777234) cpusubtype (0) 
file: -lSystem is not an object file (not allowed in a library)

A more complete overview is included in the attachments.

Could you offer any advise?
