I used to use that extension, but nowadays the advantage is only being
able to disable it per site. You can turn off Javascript in Firefox
globally. [1]
As Ian wrote, however, the modern internet is not usable without
Javascript. When I want to read a webpage without Javascript, I use Eww
in Emacs.

That one sounded great in theory but didn't work for me. I tried adding
exceptions for a while but stuff just didn't work. Also, Firefox now
offers privacy setting that do something similar.

I haven't tried those, but I install extensions sparingly. They too can
also snoop on you, you know? Firefox made some security changes a few
years ago but unless you tailor their permissions, extensions
essentially see everything you do.

It may also be their software framework, such as .Net by Microsponge.
Truth or falsehood aside, modern websites do not work without
Javascript. You will have a poor experience.
