Sound like a memory-fault.

Run memtest86 or memtest86+. Bootable CD- and Floppy-Images for
memtest86+ can be found under http://www.memtest.org/#downiso

Start the test and make a big cup of coffee or tea ;)
Maybe you can play a round "go".
