Hi,
First of all, thank you for your work.
I am a GNU/Hurd user for some time. I read a lot of documentation dedicated GNU/Hurd and I use Debian GNU/Hurd K10 CDs. I also checked the GNU/Hurd live CD on my computer.
I have the Hurd system installed on my computer and it works great except one thing: no window manager works. I installed all needed packages (/cdrom/upgrade/gui.sh), set the vesa option for my nVidia graphics card and edited the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 properly. As result I have working xdm and wdm and failsafe video mode. But all other window managers don't work (wdm is restarted). startx crashes after X Server start screen, startxfce leave me in infinite loop with xfce background screen. I run
# dpkg-reconfigure xserver-common
and allow all users (not only console ones) to use X Server, but the result is the same.
Do you figure out what can be problem?
Best regards,
Alexander
