writing a debugger to make workstation boot from server on network

 hi !
   we're involved in a project here wherein we're supposed to write a
debugger for running a program on a client as stated above.
  we're new to the area - could somebody please tell us about books on
debuggers and sites & also where to get the code for these - will b very
grateful - we're programming in C
