No. I am not editing outside unix. I am editing using vi edit. Seems to be
that is not problem. But I could give you some more info below. Please let
me know if I can give some more info to find this problem.

do you mean that you are editing the files and saving them from
windows and running them in unix?
if that is the case then its highly likely that there are control
charachters like ^M in the file.
Try editing the file from unix itself.
further if you do find the control characters in the file - after you
open it from unix, then you will need to use dos2unix
