(When asking for help, please give a summary of the actual problem
in the subject line -- nano-7.0 is not the problem here.)

I am unable to use the "anchor" feature.
When I press Alt-Ins, nothing happens.
It's possible: some keyboards (laptops) do not produce any keycode
for Alt+Insert. You can check with:
xev | grep keysym
Then, slowly, type a few Alt+key combinations. You will probably
see that Alt+Insert produces nothing. Or maybe Alt+Insert is
caught by your desktop -- check the Shortcuts in the Settings.
(Stop xev by closing the little window with your mouse.)
Personally I have the Insert key defined as Multi_key, so I use
the following line in my ~/.nanorc:
bind M-' anchor main
I find it both more mnemonic and easier to type. Of course, you
can choose some key combination that you like.
