Hi Simone,

no, this should not be a problem, e.g. the following code works fine:

v <- data.frame(name=letters[1:5])
e <- data.frame(from=letters[1:3], to=letters[3:1])
graph.data.frame(e, vertices=v, directed=TRUE)
