[igraph] reference to literature treating multigraphs or graphs with multiple edge sets explicitly

Dear all,

Would you have a reference to the analysis of multigraphs (or graphs with multiple sets of edges), in particular relating to the calculation and interpretation of graph measures in these (centrality, transitivity, etc.)?  The work I have encountered mostly deals with simple graphs (standard references such as Newman's Networks - an introduction, etc.), and its impact on the measures calculated in igraph would be very useful.
