Apparently, the script enables the generation of warnings.
Most likely, there's a #! line with a -w on it, e.g.,
#!perl -w
As a temporary hack, you can remove the -w .
If any warnings remain, try to insert a -X on the #! line. This
permanently disables warnings.
Best, of course, is to fix the script. The necessary fixes are
downward compatible with perl5.005.
