I rather doubt it! Even if your observations are currently
valid, who can predict how CVS's internals will change in a year
or five? Given that the manual gives detailed instructions for
interpreting Entries.Log, why second-guess them?

If something's not part of a documented interface, it should be
considered subject to change without notice; depending on it is a
recipe for grief. Not just for CVS; this applies pretty much
across the board. (Of course, sometimes you have no choice --
but be aware of the risk.)
