Use forward slashes instead of backward slashes in $CVSROOT and any path
names you give to CVS. When you commit a change to one of the
administrative files (like modules), you should see a message from CVS
about "Rebuilding administrative file database"; if you don't, you've
confused CVS and it won't recognize your change. To fix the problem
without having to commit a dummy change, I believe "cvs init" will
rebuild the adminitrative file database without harming your existing
repository.
