Subject: | need scripts to interface to CVS |
Date: | Wed, 21 Mar 2001 15:02:56 -0500 |
Hello everyone-
I need to script files to help my developers interface with CVS.
My project involves >20 developers all on one LAN, and everyone
will be running the scripts from Unix/linux-ish command line.
For each developer to get a copy of the entire project, there would
be way too much wasted drive space.
The plan is to have each developer use Unix soft links which point to
files in a build area that contains the entire project.
Each developer will then check out (and receive actual copies of) only
those files which they want to edit. They will just "link in" everything else
when they build.
When a developer is done editing a module, they will check it back into
the repository, and their local copy will get replaced by links to the
repository. Also, the script will deposit a copy of the latest update into
the shared build area.
Are there existing scripts to handle these (or similar) functions?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul
