CVS client on linux -- problems |

Hi
I have a problem with CVS linux client. The server is
on a unix machine.
In some directories of the working directory, cvs
commands are not recognized.
It says,'There is no version here;do a checkout' even
though there are CVS(Root,Repository etc) files and
checked out files also in that directory.
And from some directories, when I do an update,it just
runs but is not actually getting the changes, does not
show U,P etc for files, and does not show 'M' for
modified files.
I have set the root as :ext.... and .rhosts file is in
order (since I can run cvs commands fine from some
directories)Can anyone tell me what could be the
problem?
Thanks for any advice.
Regards,
Anita Chacko
