Hi,
I know this is a common problem but I found no solution:
I installed CVS 1.11 on Suse Linux 8.0 without problems. I can create
repositorys, check in and out via command line without problems.
I created a user "cvsfool" who belongs to the group "cvs" and a repository
named "/home/cvsfool/cvs/rep".
I created a file named "passwd" in "/home/cvsfool/cvs/rep/CVSROOT" and
copy-pasted cvsfool's password-line from the "/etc/shadows"-file into it.
I added the line
cvspserver stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/bin/cvs -f
--allow-root=/home/cvsfool/cvs/rep pserver
to my /etc/inetd.conf
and the lines
cvspserver 2401/tcp # cvspserver
cvspserver 2401/udp # cvspserverq
were already set in my /etc/services as recommended.
But when I try to login with:
/opt/cvs/bin/cvs -d :pserver:address@hidden:/home/cvsfool/cvs/rep login
from the command line I get:
cvs [login aborted]: recv() from server localhost: Connection reset by peer
What's wrong???
Thanks in advance
Horst
