This wouldn't be available to us until it gets merged into cvshome, though. Our CVS server is linux. But I will probably put cvsnt on my local box and experiment with this.
(And while I'd be glad to help, I *don't* think you want me mucking in C code, a good decade after I've last done so... <grin>).

CVSNT has merged in the "Reserved Edits" patch, although it is still an advisory lock, it requires the user to pass an option to bypass it (if they have -c in their .cvsrc file IIRC). ...
