The Free Software Foundation has a 20-hour/week position for a "Copyright
Assignment Clerk". This position must be carried out on site at the Free
Software Foundation offices in Boston, MA.
The duties of this position include:
* daily paper mail and email correspondence from Free Software
developer volunteers around the world.
* discussing with Free Software developers how to fill out legal
paperwork.
* explaining rules set by FSF's General Counsel's office for
employer disclaimers for copyright assignments.
* diligent and careful filing, archiving, and recording of all the
Foundation's copyright assignment data (both electronic and paper).
* Daily use of a GNU/Linux computer, particularly, but not
exclusively, email clients and web browsers.
* proper coordination with and escalation other FSF staff and legal
counsel when clarification on legal points are needed.
Experience with GNU/Linux systems, or as legal support staff is a plus,
but not required. Law students are particularly encouraged to apply.
