It works fine for me. I don't even have any secondary select methods,
all my news servers are foreign servers, i.e., I simply subscribe to a
group using B in the group buffer. The only difference between
secondary and foreign groups, IIUC, is that Gnus doesn't check for new
newsgroups on foreign servers. So what.
So the problem is probably elsewhere. Good hunting!
