Well I just found out that
User-Agent: Gnus/5.110003 (No Gnus v0.3) XEmacs/21.5 (chayote, linux)
does not split mail, using the fancy split set up in ~/.gnus.
Is this a normal behavior for this Version of Gnus and to be expected?
I just did use CVS to get the newest version....

Gnus gives you all the opportunity you could possibly want for
shooting yourself in the foot.
