mail folder main

Can I create a folder in mail/private which name is
pippo.pluto@hostname.com ?

I have tried :
nnmail-split-fancy        
     `(| ("To" "carmelo.lofiego@tiscali.it"
"mail.private.pippo.pluto@hostname.com"))

but this doesn't work.
