Ah, OK, I have configured eternal-september in gnus as suggested by Ted,
and now I can see these messages in emacs rather than in a web
browser. I guess I just don't understand what subset of messages
news.gmane.org is showing and why, but I can probably do OK remaining
ignorant on that point.
