If you keep an archive of your configuration (in a VCS, perhaps) do a
diff against the working version. Start removing things until it
works. Then add things one by one until it doesn't.
The RSS feeds are unlikely to be a problem. anything.el plugins *could*
be interfering with something but who knows, since you haven't listed
them?
I assume you hit C-g and it had no effect when Emacs was frozen?
