perhaps this is Linux specific.... Linux has /etc/ld.so.conf and /etc/ld.so.cache and in these files all directories with libraries are listed / cached ..
Not sure for OpenBSD.. In which directory is the libintl.so.3.0 library? Is it somewhere different from /lib or /usr/lib?
