Were there useful error messages that helped you find the problem?
Because this should be detected and an error message should appear
showing the overlap.
If yes, then blame on you for not paying attention to those errors before :)
If not, we need to find out why.

Did you strip your binaries with "install -s"? Have you actually read
the README?

No, but it would be possible to hack this in. Don't think it is
really worth the trouble though...
