You are right. This is why I planned to comment on the proposals and
allow for clarification before making my personal decision. We can
also have several rounds, and/or engage in active discussion
afterwards.
However, I think it is also appropriate for me to stay out of the
on-going discussion about a new proposal. This way, I can not
influence the result. I do hope, however, that others will jump in
and comment on the proposals, so that they can be refined even before
I get to look at them.
