You seem to be skipping over the last two lines of context, where you can see that nothing functional changed with my patch.
The changelog entry where linux* became pass_all was: 2003-09-29 Scott James Remnant <address@hidden> * libtool.m4 (AC_DEPLIBS_CHECK_METHOD): Use pass_all for linux* solving many build problems on ARM, and hopefully preventing any future ones.
