It seems that this patch is not sufficient. Libltdl does some strange
things. I get a dialog box "The application or DLL
c:\blah\ltdl\.libs\libltdl.a is not a valid Windows image. Please
check this against your installation diskette."
Why does libltdl attempt to dynamically load .a files?
