I've no problems with leaving Peter's stuff in HEAD; at least there we have some time to debug it. But I'm fearful of an impending 2.0 release (that's why there's a release branch, right?) where any random "cleanup" or "cosmetic" patch can break existing functionality.
It wasn't really a "cleanup" or "cosmetic" patch. The output of libtool linking on Mac OS X was confusing enough for a sleepycat engineer to patch it. I think it was a bug, and I thought my second commit to be extremely conservative (I even called myself a wimp in the ChangeLog). I did not foresee a possibility of breakage, I am sorry for making that assumption.
In a moment of madness (it must this flu I have), I'm trying to install virtual PC on my mac, so I can install windows 98 on it, so I can install cygwin on that, so I can install libtool branch-2-0 on that. I'll see if I can figure out what is going on.That's good new. INSANE.
Totally insane. Peter -- Peter O'Gorman - http://www.pogma.com
