xpdf does not show an error, and looking inside of the PDF, one sees the  
character sequence ce b2 which _is_ properly encoded UTF-8 for GREEK SMALL  
LETTER BETA, the title.  However, a bit later indeed e4 20 f6 occurs in the  
file, and this apparently is the "composer" field in Latin1.
