I'm not sure that I like this.  It makes the note smaller, increasing the  
possiblity that the hole in it gets filled while printing at smaller  
sizes...  Instead of a concave shape I would rather slightly lengthen the  
thin sides to stick out a bit (as shown in the image of #3), which probably  
gives the same optical effect.

No idea whether we need a new shape at all.
